Notifications

What the bell tells you: what notifies you, the list behind the bell and the Notifications page, how long they are kept, and what is not sent.

Describes Ronne AI Marketplace 0.7.0.

What notifies you

Notifications tell you, inside the app, what happened to your work and what waits for you. Each one is addressed to a person, and only to the people it concerns:

  • If you submitted an item: it was approved (or approved by override, despite its security scan), changes were requested, it was rejected, someone else commented on it, someone else released it, or a dependency of it was rejected so it needs changes (Decisions).
  • If you asked for changes to an item: the author sent it back for review.
  • If you asked to join a workspace: the request was approved or declined (Joining a workspace).
  • If you asked to move a scope or an item: it was moved, or the request was declined (Moving a scope, Moving an item to another scope).
  • If you are a member of a workspace: you were added to it, removed from it, or your role in it changed, by a person or by your company's identity provider's groups.
  • If you answer requests: a request is waiting for you, once for each request: to join a workspace or to move an item, for root and the workspace's moderators and admins; to move a scope, for root and the target workspace's admins (root alone when the target is global or a personal workspace).
  • If you are root: someone sent feedback (Feedback).

What you do yourself never notifies you. When nobody did it, such as a role that came from your identity provider's groups, it reads "The system". Only what is addressed to you appears: the count beside Reviews and Requests stays a count, and a submission waiting for review doesn't send a notification to every reviewer.

The bell and the page

The bell is at the right of the bar above the page (on a phone, beside the Menu button). A badge says how many notifications are unread, 99+ past ninety-nine, and nothing at zero. The number is read again on every page, and every minute while the page is visible.

Choose the bell to see the ten latest, newest first. Unread ones are in bold with a dot; read ones are dimmed. Each one is a single link: opening it takes you to what it is about and marks it read. Mark all as read marks every unread one, and See all notifications opens the page. One about something that no longer exists has nothing to open and is plain text. On a phone the list fills the screen.

The Notifications page lists every notification of yours, newest first, 25 a page (or 50 or 100). Two filters, Status (unread, read) and About (the kinds, listed under what they are about), let you tick more than one value: the button names what is chosen, as badges, or says All when nothing is, and the choice is in the address, so the view can be linked. Select rows and choose Mark selected as read, or Mark all as read; a message says how many changed. The total counts what you can see, and reads 1,000+ past that.

What you can no longer see is left out, and not counted. If you are removed from a private workspace, the notifications about its items and requests disappear; they come back if you are added again. The notice that you were removed, and a declined request to join, stay.

The sentences are written in your language when you read them: changing your language changes the old ones too (Language).

How long they are kept

  • A notification is kept for 90 days, read or not, and then deleted. The 90 days are fixed, not a setting (Retention).
  • Erasing an account deletes the notifications addressed to it (Erase an account).
  • Your data download includes the notifications addressed to you, without who caused them (Your data).
  • Marking one read isn't recorded in the audit log.

In the app only

Notifications are shown in the app and nowhere else: Ronne sends no email, webhook or push message for them. They are not in rmk, the MCP server or the API.

There is no setting to mute a kind: every kind that is addressed to you is shown, and the filters on the Notifications page only change what you look at.
