What is an AI capability registry?

An AI capability registry is where a team keeps the skills, agents, rules, hooks and MCP servers its AI coding tools use: named, versioned and reviewed before anyone installs them.

What AI tools read

Claude Code, Codex and Cursor take much of their behaviour from files: instructions, agent definitions, hooks that run commands, MCP servers that connect to other systems. Whoever writes those files decides what the tool may do. A registry gives them a name, a version and a review, and one place to install them from.

What a registry does

  • Names. Each item has a name inside a scope.
  • Versions. A released version never changes. A change is a new version.
  • Review. A moderator or root who isn't the author approves an item before it is released.
  • Install. One item is installed into each AI tool as the files that tool reads.

Ronne AI Marketplace

Ronne AI Marketplace is an open-source registry under the MIT licence. Your team runs it on its own infrastructure. Someone proposes an item, a moderator reviews it, and it is released as a version. People then install it into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor with the rmk command line, or from inside the tool through an MCP server.

It is in early development, at version 0.6.0.
